It’s self waistband gives it a fitted waist.
This shorts is a main product as it can be used all the year depending on the fabric selected.

Recommended fabrics
I made my shorts in gabardine, you could also use velvet, thick crepe, jacquard, chambray, cotton… It depends what you like and on the season!
